Segments for a solo string instrument or string ensemble

Version for cello solo by Roland Schueler, Vienna 2012

Though the material itself is very simple, the piece is a study in complexity and excessive demand. The player has to read two different notations simultaneously: a mobile score providing a set of roughly fifty segments has to be linked with a kind of serially organized fingering chart. Following a set of rules of how to combine the segments and at the same time organize the parameters, the player has to compose the piece in realtime.
