Conference (Ordinary Music Vol. 23), for percussion sextet
The title refers to the fact that the performers are sitting at tables,
like laptop-performers usually do. The sound-aesthetics refer to field-recordings.
I want to provoke a comparison between electronically and manually generated
sounds. Almost in all spheres, electronics have suppressed manual activities,
and therewith an entire world of sounds is fading. For the music I would
like to rescue both the sound-world and the surface feel of manual activity.
