Pannonia Trio, for guitar, percussion and doublebass
Sound features and instruction for sound generation and are notated in diagrams, which are sequenced on a time scale. The material is always tailored to the character of the instrument.
The guitar plays mostly traditional musical material, particularly arpeggiated chords; the percussion set, providing several objects and effect-instruments, serves as a noisemaker; the doublebass, commanding over a continuum of both, frequency and formant, serves as a mediator between the spheres of “music” and “noise”.
The piece was premiered in Szeged (Hungary), in 2010, by Mathew Mitchell
(guitar), Bela Resch (doublebass) and Nikolaus Gerszewski (percussion).
The present recording was made at Amann Studios, Vienna.
